The pottery course is so much fun!! Pheona is really funny, positive and openminded. But besides that she is very serious about helping you grow, with patience and time for every single student.
You really feel seen by her. She also tries to make everyone feel at home by bringing snacks, tea/coffee
Pheona is a lovely person and a good teacher. Everyone gets their individual attention, groups aren't too big and by her teaching and the setup of the courses everyone can achieve results without pushing. There's always room for laughs, music and stories. Ive done a course here twice now and will definitely take another one in the future!

Pottery class at Claytoplate are the perfect place to have fun, relax and improve your skills in pottery. I really like Phe approach. During the course she give you all the bases that you need to start exploring the pottery world. After that we are free to design and explore everything we want, and Phe challenges us every course ! Just bring ideas and explore how to make them! And the best thing is that she is also an incredible chef and in every class you can try one her delicious food! Super recommended !
I absolutely loved Pheona's workshop! It was my first time on the pottery wheel/working with clay and even though I am not creative whatsoever I made some beautiful bowls that I now proudly present all of my guests. Pheona's passion for pottery, humour and patience as a teacher make her workshop highly enjoyable and using our own bowls to taste some of her amazing Malaysian cooking in the last session was just the icing on top! Five stars!!!
De beste pottenbakcursus die je je kunt bedenken, maar dan nog net een stukje beter. Pheona is erg gastvrij, laat je welkom voelen, straalt echt uit dat pottenbakken haar passie is en is zeer geduldig om je alles te leren. Ze doet zoveel extra naast hetgeen wat een normale cursus biedt. Ik kan niet wachten om een volgende cursus weer bij haar te volgen!
Hele fijne lessen, waar ik heel veel heb geleerd! Super gezellig, en ik had nooit verwacht dat ik in zo’n korte tijd al zulke mooie dingen zou kunnen maken. Zeker een aanrader als je echt de techniek van het potten draaien wil leren!

I had an amazing experience and really enjoyed the friendly small group sessions on the pottery classes. I found the lessons inspirational and easy going. Pheona is an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher, creating a fun, enjoyable atmosphere to work in. By the end of last session you got to enjoy a fantastic Malaysian cuisine served in your own unique bowl! Isn't it just brilliant?! I am absolutely in love with this concept and looking forward to book an additional session!

I never thought I would have been able to transform clay into beautiful pieces - Pheona is undoubtedly the most bubbly, bright human being and an even more amazing, inspiring teacher!! As someone who grew up with a lot of Malaysian food accessible in Sydney, I sorely missed the complex spices and flavours; when Phe introduced this concept, I could only jump at the opportunity to try her cooking and being able to eat it out of my own handmade bowl was magical!! What started as a one month fun course to just do something new in 2021, turned into a new hobby where I can see myself growing and learning so much more from Phe. Highly recommend this and can’t wait to see this concept grow even bigger!!!!

I LOVED EVERY SECOND. From meditative to energetic and dance-provoking. From humbling to confidence-boosting. Impossible not to love the pottery... and Pheona. And If I could have given an extra star for the amazing food, I would have! Hope to be in the studio again soon!

Five stars isn't enough. If you're looking for a pottery class, this is the place to be. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or have some experience with clay. As long as you're passionate and have a willingness to learn, you'll fit right in! Phe teaches in a very engaging and encouraging way, always challenging you to do more! A very inclusive and engaging atmosphere.

I had an amazing time at Pheona's class. It was truly wholesome to learn a new medium, led by such a powerhouse of a teacher while being surrounded by the best energy and talented people. I felt comfortable, encouraged and inspired to create and evolve my skills but also to let everything go and just have fun. I feel like everyone should get to experience Pheona's way of teaching and spirit, it's good for the soul ♥️

I enjoyed in this class: the one-to-one lessons, the ambiance, the nice food, the cool people I met, the large choice of glaze, and the list goes on. I moved to the NL 4 months ago, and I have to say, that my pottery class has become like my family away from home. It´s not only the cozy atmosphere, the friendly people (who are all very diverse and international-another plus!-) and the delicious food that we share, but also the challenges, the skill development and the focus to try and create beautiful things, what makes this class exceptionally great and different from others! If you are looking to take on a creative hobby in Utrecht, I cannot recommend a better choice and place than Clay to Plate, you will be warmly welcomed and will see yourself blossom in your art like never before. P.S. you will also be able to show off your amazing pieces and even gift some of them to your loved ones and I think that there is nothing quite like it!!

Brilliant concept combining pottery, delicious food with the inspiring stories and expertise of lovely Pheona! You get to practise different techniques on the pottery wheel, but also hand shape and different ways of glazing and decorating. I enjoyed it so much I've already booked an additional session!

Learning something new has never been so fun! Pheona guides you to the journey of feeling and understanding clay, and without even realizing you have created your own style of pottery making. The studio is the most inclusive and homey of the environments.

I have just completed a pottery course with 4 sessions and I really enjoyed it! I learned a lot, was creatively challenged and am pleasantly surprised by all the lovely pottery pieces I have taken home. All while being treated to amazing Malaysian cooking. Phe is warm hearted, passionate and a great teacher. A totally enjoyable experience!

Lovely place in Utrecht for first time and experienced potters. The atmosphere is really nice and she teaches you the necessary things but also gives you freedom to experiment. Also suitable for dutchies and internationals/expats. Took some lovely pieces home with me after my first course which Im proud of :) would like to go again!
